LearnType is built on a simple promise: the full typing curriculum, every game, every analytics feature, and every multiplayer mode is free for individual learners — forever. No credit card, no free trial that expires, no premium tier that locks the best lessons away. We're able to do this because the project runs on a single small server and is funded by unrelated consulting work, so our running costs stay low and we have no investors or advertisers to satisfy. Below you'll find the plan, a plain-English explanation of how we stay free, and answers to the pricing questions we hear most often.

What's actually included in the Free plan
We want to be specific, because “free” is a word that has been abused by a lot of typing apps. The Free plan is not a trial, a teaser, or a freemium funnel. It includes the entire 60+ lesson curriculum across Avro Phonetic, Bijoy, and English touch typing, plus the code-snippets and GRE vocabulary tracks. It includes all 13 arcade gamesand the live multiplayer race mode. It includes Smart Practice with AI-suggested drills built from your personal error patterns, the full real-time analytics suite (WPM, accuracy, per-finger stats, error heatmaps), cross-device progress sync when you sign in, and access to the global leaderboard. There are no locked lessons, no daily caps, no watered-down free mode. It's the whole product.
Why is it free?
LearnType is built by typing enthusiasts who believe basic computer literacy in Bangla should not have a paywall. The product is funded by other consulting work and runs on a single low-cost server, so our monthly costs are low and predictable. We have no investors demanding a return, no advertisers tracking you around the web, and no plans to sell user data — that's the business model. If you find LearnType useful, the best way to support us is to share it with someone learning to type, or to tell a teacher who could use it in a classroom.
Will it stay free?
The individual Free plan stays free, permanently. We may eventually add a paid Pro tier aimed at schools and offices that need bulk seat management, a custom curriculum, and exportable progress reports. None of those Pro features exist yet, and none of the features currently in the Free plan will be removed or paywalled when Pro launches — Pro is purely additive for teams.

Not yet. A Pro tier is on the roadmap for schools, offices and other teams that need bulk seat management, a custom curriculum, and exportable progress reports. Individual learners will never need it — it's aimed at administrators running typing programmes for tens or hundreds of people. Join the contact list if you'd like a heads-up when it ships.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?+
No. Creating a LearnType account is completely free and requires no payment information. You can sign up with an email and password or with Google, and you'll never be asked for a card. You can also try lessons without an account at all, though you'll need one to sync progress across devices.
Can schools and classrooms use LearnType?+
Yes. Teachers and schools are welcome to use the Free plan with their students today. We're actively building the Pro tier for schools that need features like a central admin dashboard, bulk seat provisioning and exportable per-student reports.
