From Beginner to Pro: The 6-Week Bengali Conjunct Typing Roadmap

Before You Start

This roadmap is designed for learners starting from scratch with Bengali conjunct typing. If you already know some conjuncts, jump in at the relevant week.

Required resources to have open alongside this guide:

Week 1 — Foundation (Target: 15 WPM)

Daily commitment: 20 minutes.

Start by reading Hasant (্) Explained — the formation logic makes every subsequent week faster.

Learn the first 10 conjuncts: ক্ত, ন্ত, স্ত, ম্প, ন্দ, ম্ব, ত্ত, ন্ন, ল্ল, ক্ষ

Daily drill: type each conjunct 10 times isolated, then in one word, then in one sentence. Do not move on until each feels automatic.

End-of-week check: Can you type all 10 without looking up the keystroke?

Week 2 — Word Level (Target: 25 WPM)

Add the next 15 conjuncts from Top 50: জ্ঞ, ক্ক, গ্ধ, ষ্ট, ক্ষ্ণ, and others.

Vocabulary drill: memorise the first 50 words from the 200 Practice Words list. Aim to type each word as a single muscle-memory unit, not letter by letter.

Week 3 — Reph and Fola (Target: 35 WPM)

Add the special forms:

Move to sentence-level typing. Write at least 10 sentences per day using words from the previous two weeks.

Week 4 — Difficult Conjuncts (Target: 45 WPM)

Tackle the hardest conjuncts from How to Type Difficult Bengali Conjuncts:

Targets this week: হ্ম, স্ত্র, ন্দ্র, ষ্ট্র, ক্ষ্ম

One conjunct per day, isolated drill, then words, then sentences. Do not try all five in a single session.

Week 5 — Passage Typing (Target: 50 WPM)

Shift from word drills to full passage typing using LearnType's practice content. Measure your WPM at the start and end of each session.

Review 10 Common Mistakes When Typing Bengali Conjuncts and eliminate any persistent errors this week.

Week 6 — Speed Build (Target: 60 WPM)

This week focuses on closing the gap between your current speed and the target.
