About Falling Words

Falling Words is a free falling words typing game — a classic arcade with a twist. Every word that drifts down from the top of the screen is an asteroid hurtling toward your defender ship. Type the word fully and a twin-laser volley shoots out, vaporizing it in a shower of sparks.

The longer you survive, the faster the words come and the harder they get. Word lengths grow with every level, the spawn rate tightens, and trails of debris fill the starfield — your only weapon is your keyboard. It plays like an asteroid typing game and a space typing game rolled into one fast, replayable drill.

It works in both English and Bangla — a free online typing game with no sign-up. Bangla mode shows the word in Bengali script with the matching Avro phonetic key sequence (and Bijoy mapping) beneath it, so it doubles as a bangla typing game for practising your script and your typing at once.

How to Play Falling Words

From start screen to high score in under a minute.

1

Watch the asteroids

Word-asteroids drift down the screen. The lower one will hit you first.

2

Type the word

Type any letter that starts a visible word — your ship locks on automatically.

3

Finish to destroy

Type the rest of the word to fire a finishing laser and explode the asteroid.

4

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know about Falling Words.

Is Falling Words free to play?
Yes — Falling Words is 100% free, runs right in your browser, and needs no sign-up or download. Just open the page and start typing.
Does Falling Words help with real typing speed?
Yes. The game forces you to read words rapidly, scan for first letters, and type without looking at the keyboard — exactly the muscle memory loop typing courses build, but in a game.
Can I play in Bangla?
Add ?lang=bangla to the URL or pick Bangla on the launcher. Words appear in Bangla script with the Avro phonetic key sequence shown below, so you can practice both at once.
Is there a Hindi version of Falling Words?
Yes. Falling Words supports Hindi in all three layouts — Phonetic, InScript and Remington — on LearnType's canonical typing engine. Pick Hindi on the launcher or open the Hindi route directly.
Is Falling Words good for kids?
Yes. Beginner difficulty starts with short 3–4 letter words and a gentle spawn rate, making it one of the better typing games for kids who are ready to move past single letters.
What words can appear?
Easy waves use 3–4 letter common words. Mid-game words grow longer (4–6 letters), and late-game introduces themed vocabulary. In Bangla mode the pool is curated for fairness with the layout you've chosen.
Why didn't my keypress register?
If two enemies share the same first letter, the engine prefers the one closer to the bottom. Once you type any letter you're locked onto that word until it's destroyed or you press Esc.
Does it work on mobile?
Falling Words needs a physical keyboard. On a tablet you can pair a Bluetooth keyboard, but touch input isn't supported.
